The holidays have been painful for me the last six years.  I moved to Tempe for school, then stayed.   Meanwhile, my parents broke up back in Memphis, dad moved to Alabama and mom stayed there, my brother is somewhere in Georgia and my sister phones in sometimes from all over the place.

So mom decided we need to get together this year at Christmas, in Memphis. But when I checked out the cost of airfares, it scared me.  Literally, it makes me worry about losing my apartment if I were to divert my monthly rent ($650) to the airlines ($600-800, depending on what day I travel).

I went online after passing an auto title loan company on E. University Drive, and found out my Jeep Wrangler could get me a loan for about that much money. I have bad credit, but the online application asked for none of that. I went with Car Title Loans in Tempe, where I was able to get fast cash in one day.

The airfares went up $75 the day after I bought those tickets.  I’m so glad I didn’t hesitate — in my situation, there really was no choice so I just went ahead with it.
